The Sydney Swans will host Carlton on Sunday, October 11 for Pride Round at Henson Park in Round 9 of the AFLW competition. 

Henson Park is a long‑standing, multi-purpose community sporting ground in Marrickville with a storied history.

The Sydney Swans run a free shuttle bus powered by Origin Energy between Sydenham Station and Henson Park for select AFLW match days.

Thanks to Origin Energy, an electric bus will be available to pick up members and fans from Sydenham Station and Henson Park throughout the day so you can cheer on the red and white with ease. 

Members and fans holding a ticket will be able to board with priority given to those with mobility issues or families with young children. Please be mindful when queuing.

Need assistance on the day? Look out for our Sydney Swans staff at the station and outside the oval to assist.

Limited Street Parking is available around the venue.

General admission tickets for adults will remain at $15, with youth tickets (15-17) at $5, while juniors (under 14) be free* 

*Juniors must redeem a $0 ticket from Ticketmaster for entry into the venue.

There will be five AFLW matches held in Sydney during the 2026 season. Our first home game of the season will take place in a Sydney Swans Double Header at the SCG in Round 2 on Sunday, August 23 and four matches will be played at Henson Park in Round 5,7,9 and 11. 

The Swans return home to the club’s spiritual home, the SCG, will be the first time Sydney’s women’s team return to the ground for a home-and-away match since AFLW Season 6 in 2022. 

The Round 5 clash at Henson Park will be a much anticipated derby against the Giants, while members have been rewarded for their commitment to showing up, with Sydney hosting Sunday afternoon clashes also against Brisbane, Carlton and the West Coast Eagles. The fixture in Round 9 against the Blues is the AFLW’s annual Pride Round, to celebrate with the LGBTIQA+ community. 

For our NSW regional fans, one home game will be held at C.Ex Coffs International Stadium in Round 3 against St Kilda – an Indigenous Round fixture on Saturday, August 29 at 4:35pm.

AFLW Admission Members, Premium and Ruby Club Members can access Sydney Swans AFLW matches using their mobile member tickets in the Sydney Swans App. 

Your mobile member tickets will be ready to download the week leading into each game. 

Fans will be able to watch AFLW matches throughout the season across the Seven Network, 7plus, Foxtel, Kayo and Binge.

Game time: The quarters in women's games are 17 minutes plus time on for goals or major injuries only, and an additional two minutes plus time on for match stoppages, goals or major injuries.  

Shorter season: The season is shorter than the men's, with 12 games and finals.  
 
16 players on the field: the team is arranged in a 5-6-5 configuration with 5 forwards, 6 midfielders, and 5 defenders. Five players sit on the bench and there is a limit of 60 interchange rotations. AFL games have 18 players and the men’s game is 6-6-6, with 6 forwards, 6 midfielders, and 6 defenders., with a limit of 75 interchange rotations. 

Smaller ball: AFLW matches are played with a size 4 Sherrin football which is slightly smaller than the AFL, which uses a size 5.  

No centre bounce: Umpires throw the ball up in the centre of the ground. In 2026, AFL also adopted this rule.

Established in 2022, the Sydney Swans AFLW team continues to build on a strong foundation as it enters the 2026 season.

The playing group will be led by Lucy McEvoy, who assumes the role of sole captain for the first time in 2026, supported by Sofia Hurley and Cynthia Hamilton as co-vice captains. McEvoy previously shared the captaincy with Chloe Molloy from 2023, helping guide the Swans through several historic milestones, including the club's inaugural AFLW finals appearance.

The Swans have also welcomed several new faces to the red and white in 2026, including Taylor Smith, Aly Neyland, Maddie Quinn, Molly Thomas, Mary-Kate Lynch, Emma Juneja and Indiana Williams, adding further talent and depth to an exciting young squad.

The AFLW coaching group is led by senior coach Colin O'Riordan, who was appointed ahead of the 2026 season. 30-year-old O’Riordan, who was originally recruited to the Sydney Swans from Ireland, played 34 AFL games for the club between 2016-2022. O'Riordan makes history as the first Irish senior coach in the AFL/AFLW.  

Since retiring from AFL due to chronic hip injuries, O’Riordan has remained at the club in several coaching roles, including Head Coach of the QBE Sydney Swans U/18 Male Academy and AFLW Assistant Coach.  

He is supported by a coaching panel that includes inaugural Sydney Swans AFLW co-captain Brooke Lochland, former AFL player Lachie Hunter, and former AFLW player Tanya Hetherington.
