“When he has got the ball, you are never safe.”

Those were the words from Fox Footy commentator and champion full-forward Jason Dunstall after witnessing yet another Lance Franklin special on Saturday afternoon.

Franklin, running full pelt towards the right-hand point post at Metricon Stadium and with a defender applying some pressure on his preferred side, dribbled the ball through with ease to convert one of his three majors against Gold Coast.

The goal was considered among the best from Round 10, earning a Goal of the Year nomination in the process alongside St. Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt and Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe.

Very few of Franklin’s 689 goals have been kicked on his non-preferred right foot. Not that it mattered after the superstar proved no angle or challenge is beyond his means.
