Experienced duo Ted Richards and Ben McGlynn have been named to play in Saturday’s NEAFL practice match against GWS.

Both Richards and McGlynn were absent in the Swans’ NAB Challenge campaign due to injury, and as a result, have been left out of the Swans’ opening round clash with Collingwood.

With more than 406 AFL games between them, the duo will be managed closely at Blacktown International Sportspark against the Giants as they strive for a senior recall.

The appearance marks the first time since 2010 that Richards has played in the reserves while McGlynn played six games for the NEAFL Swans last year as part of the small forward’s return from injuries.

AFL attuned Brandon Jack, James Rose, Toby Nankervis and Xavier Richards will also line up.

The match is coach Rhyce Shaw’s last tune up before leading the team up to Burpengary, Queensland, for an opening round clash with Brisbane on April 2.
