Lance Franklin’s dominant nine-goal performance against St Kilda last weekend has earned him a ‘perfect ten’ in the race for the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year award.

In addition to Franklin’s nine goals, the star forward picked up 19 possessions, 13 marks inside 50, with five of them contested, in the Swans’ 71-point victory over the Saints.

Buddy’s ten-vote performance has seen his season-tally climb to 70 votes, which places him just outside the competition’s top five.

Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh’s performance on Saturday also attracted the attention of the coaches, with the midfielder collecting seven votes for his 28 possessions, four tackles and three goals assists at the SCG.

Luke Parker was also awarded seven votes for his game-high 33 possessions, six clearances and six tackles, which sees him consolidate third place on the Swans leaderboard with 57 votes for the season.

Kieren Jack and Nick Malceski each picked up two votes for their games against the Saints, while Gary Rohan was awarded his first vote for the season for his 19 possession performance and game-high 10-one-percenters off half-back.
