The race is on for the Sydney Swans Fan MVP award, made possible by QBE, with Luke Parker closing in on Josh Kennedy at the top of the leaderboard.

Following Parker’s impressive performance in the Swans’ qualifying final win over Fremantle a fortnight ago, the 21-year-old is now within striking distance of Kennedy, who has led the competition for the majority of the season.

Parker’s game-high 32 possessions, six clearances, six tackles and one-goal effort against the Dockers earned him 38 points, which has seen him climb to 308 points for the season, just 32 behind Kennedy, who added just two points for his performance in the qualifying final.

The young midfielder’s top points in the qualifying final marked the fifth time this season that Parker was voted as best afield by Swans fans, which also equal’s Kennedy for the season to date.

Lance Franklin looks set to claim third place in this year’s Fan MVP award, with Ben McGlynn also an outside chance to claim a podium finish.
Buddy’s best game this season saw him collect 45 points – the highest score by any Swans player this season – for his dominant 19 possessions, nine goals and 13 marks against St Kilda in round 21.

Make sure you register your votes for Friday night’s preliminary final against North Melbourne at ANZ Stadium by submitting your three, two and one votes following the conclusion of the game - http://fansmvp.sydneyswans.com.au
