The Sydney Swans will take on Hawthorn in the 2014 AFL Grand Final, after the Hawks posted a three-point win over Port Adelaide on Saturday evening at the MCG.

In what will be a rematch of the 2012 Grand Final, when the Swans claimed the premiership with a ten-point win over Hawthorn, the Swans will meet the Hawks at the MCG next Saturday, September 27 in the competition decider.

The Swans have met the Hawks on two occasions this season, with a 19-point win at ANZ Stadium in round eight, before Hawthorn hit back with a 10-point win at the MCG in round 18.

In the round eight clash, Dan Hannebery led the way for the Swans, with the young midfielder collecting a game-high 40 possessions and six tackles, while Kurt Tippett was the club’s leading goal kicker with four goals in his first match of the season.

In round 18, it was the Hawks who ran away with the four points after turning around a 23-point deficit to claim a thrilling ten-point win in Melbourne.

On that occasion, Ben McGlynn was among the best performers, with the ferocious midfielder collecting 23 possessions and nine tackles for the match.
