Franklin and Kennedy the big movers in Brownlow Medal betting
Joel Selwood still favourite, but punters flock to back star Swans
SYDNEY Swans pair Josh Kennedy and Lance Franklin have been the big movers in the lead-up to Monday night's Brownlow Medal, with Kennedy now third favourite behind Joel Selwood and Gary Ablett.
The Swans midfielder is rated a $6 chance with TAB.com.au after starting the day at $10, overtaking Robbie Gray ($7) and Jordan Lewis ($9).
Franklin, meanwhile, has been wound in from $21 on Monday morning to $15.
Midfielder Luke Parker, who produced an outstanding performance in the Swans' preliminary final win on Friday night, has moved from $81 to $41 on Monday.
Ablett and Selwood have attracted a lot of late money, with one punter placing a $10,000 bet on Ablett to finish in the top five at $1.23.
Another placed $4,500 on Selwood to win the Brownlow Medal at $2.50.
Ablett eased from $3.50 to $4 late on Monday and will start behind favourite Selwood ($2.50).
Port Adelaide star Gray, who took out the AFLCA player of the year award, also eased from $6 to $7 on Monday. The crafty half-forward started the season at $501 odds.
One of Monday's other big bets with TAB.com.au was a $10,000 plunge on Selwood to finish in the top five at $1.15.
Another punter placed $1,000 on Western Bulldogs youngster Jackson Macrae to finish in the top five at $51.
Richmond captain Trent Cotchin attracted a $1,000 bet to win the Brownlow at $34.
