Scintillating performances from Luke Parker and Lance Franklin lifted the Sydney Swans to their first win of the 2014 season, with a 63-point defeat of the Adelaide Crows at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval.

Parker and Franklin each booted four goals against the Crows, while young gun Harry Cunningham added three majors in the Swans’ big win.

Following a strong opening half, which saw the Swans hold a 29-point lead during the second term, the Crows fought back hard after half-time to come within two points of the lead midway through the third quarter.

But, unlike they had been able to in the opening two rounds, the Swans answered the challenge in emphatic fashion, scoring 12 of the final 13 goals of the game and flying home with renewed vigour.

Speaking after the match, coach John Longmire said he was pleased with his team’s efforts, including Franklin, who produced his best game to date in Swans colours.

"He (Franklin) played really well today, but so did the other 21 (players),” Longmire said.

"The guys made the change (in the third quarter) as far as laying some important tackles, winning some 50-50 balls. We thought our leaders were sensational when they were challenged."

Franklin finished the match with 20 disposals, six marks and four goals, while Parker (26 possessions, six marks, three tackles, four goals) and Josh Kennedy (28 possessions, five tackles) were also outstanding for the Swans.
