Sydney Swans pair Dan Hannebery and Luke Parker will mix up their pre-season training schedule when they travel to the United States on Wednesday.

The duo have been invited to train and to be physically and mentally tested at Gatorade’s Sports Science Institute in Florida.

For five days, Hannebery and Parker will be put through a number of tests by Gatorade’s sport science staff to identify ways they can improve their performance through hydration and nutrition.

The Gatorade Sports Science Institute has tested some of the world’s best athletes including Eli Manning, Dwight Howard and a couple of familiar faces, in Gold Coast’s Gary Ablett and Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury, who both attended last year.

Hannebery and Parker will be joined on the once in a lifetime trip alongside Geelong stars Joel Selwood and Tom Hawkins.

Parker, who claimed the club’s best and fairest award last year at just 21 years of age, said he’s looking forward to getting over to the states.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Dan and I and one that we’re really excited about,” Parker said.

“It’s not every day you get invited to train at a world-class facility like Gatorade’s in Florida.

“It’s going to be great to get over there to see the facilities and to train and be tested and hopefully we can learn a lot and implement it into our training programs.”
