Our fantasy football expert @CalvinDT recaps how the Swans players fared during Round 5 of AFL Fantasy.

LAST WEEK’S NEWS

Not the result we were after but Dan Hannebery (MID, $559,000) had a day out with his 37 touches and 11 tackles.  He racked up a huge 139 to be the 4th highest scorer in the competition from round five.

After sitting on 25pts at quarter time, the Bulldogs must have done a rain dance in an effort to stop Lance Franklin (FWD, $517,000) and it worked. Wet conditions are not ideal for marking forwards as Buddy worked hard and finished the day on 80.

Kieren Jack (MID, $521,000) chipped in with a handy 91 and Jarrad McVeigh (MID, $556,000) continued his good form with a solid 92. He now carries an average of 108 in his last three games this year.

ON THE RADAR

Is it Christmas? Is that really Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $446,000)? Oh my, we have been waiting for so long to see Tom Mitchell and here he is. Mitchell debuted back in 2013 and burst onto the scene with scores of 98 and 144. He went on to play another 12 games that year and then only six in 2014… and it appears he is now back and firing.

On the weekend, he had 70pts at half time to finish on 118 for the day from 30 disposals. He is a scoring machine and a ball magnet who only plays his 20th game this week. If he can stay as a regular in the Swan’s best 22, lock him into your side.

TOP 5 SCORERS

#1 – 139 Dan Hannebery (MID, $559,000)
#2 – 118 Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $446,000)
#3 – 100 Josh Kennedy (MID, $538,000)
#4 – 94 Mike Pyke (RUC, $359,000)
#5 – 92 Jarrad McVeigh (MID, $556,000)

WHAT’S COMING UP

The Swans are back on the MCG this week against the Demons and I’m tipping Dan Hannebery to dominate again. He has scored 116, 74 and 138 against them in his last three games and last week, Melbourne allowed six Dockers to score 110+. He’ll be a certainty to be in the top 5 scorers again next week.

All the best for round six!
