The signs are looking good but Swans fitness staff will err on the side of caution with Jake Lloyd’s ankle ahead of Saturday night’s clash against Hawthorn.

General Manager of Football Tom Harley confirmed on Tuesday Lloyd had recovered well from last weekend’s match despite being subbed out of the game and replaced by Dean Towers during the early stages of the final term.

Harley expects Lloyd, who first injured his ankle against Melbourne in Round 6, to be fit and ready to take on the Hawks at the MCG.

“Jake went into the game under an injury cloud and was subbed out just after three-quarter-time,” Harley said during the latest HCF Injury Update.

“As much as anything because he had a limited week leading into the Geelong game and we were able to get Dean Towers into the game.

“He has recovered well to this point in time and we expect him to be available for selection.”

Harley also provided an update on Isaac Heeney who is recovering from a PCL injury suffered against the Demons.

The first-year recruit should begin Alter-G running on a specially designed anti-gravity treadmill in the coming days in an effort to gain some strength and mobility back into the injured knee.

“Being a first-year player we’re taking a really cautious approach, we’re not going to take any risks with him and are certainly in no hurry to rush him back into the team,” Harley said.

“But, early stages, he has been really diligent with his recovery so we’re expecting Isaac to be match-ready pretty soon.”
