Co-captain Kieren Jack has praised the competitive nature of Adam Goodes to turn his form around over the last month.

Goodes has averaged 18 disposals over the last month booting four goals in that period and playing an important role in the Swans forward line.

After spending two weeks playing for the club’s NEAFL side earlier in the season, Goodes has performed well since returning to the side in Round 5 against the Western Bulldogs.

“The last three or four weeks he’s been super,” Jack said.

“He adds a different dimension to our forward line and he offers some headaches for the opposition side too because he’s a tall forward line player but he plays almost like a small.

“He’s still got that pace we know from Adam Goodes.”

The dual Brownlow Medalist has played an important role in the Swans five straight wins, booting a goal in every game since his return to the side.

“His form has been the byproduct of a lot of hard work,” Jack said.

“He’s a champion and he’s a champion because he’s a real competitor.

“You don’t play that many games without having a real ruthless, competitive attitude and when he’s out there he demands the best of himself and wants to get the best out of himself and also for the better of the team.

Jack said Goodes’ decision to return to the NEAFL to find some form was a great showcase of the commitment the group had to achieving success.

“Goodesy’s attitude through being dropped has been fantastic for our entire playing list,” he said.

“What a great person he is to be able to do that. It was a selfless act for the team.

“That’s one of our strengths that we want at this football club, we want to be tight, we want to be a tight playing group.”
