LAST WEEK’S NEWS

From a Fantasy perspective, several interesting things came out of the disappointing loss on Friday night.

Josh Kennedy (MID, $509,000) and Luke Parker (MID, $568,000) did what they do best and worked tirelessly for their scores of 114pts and 112pts. However, the talk of the night was the subbing of young gun Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $537,000) on just 48pts. It has Fantasy coaches now trying to work out… ‘what does it all mean?’

Before last week, Mitchell was flying and was one of the best averaging forwards in the competition, but after his subbing, many are now questioning his role and position in the team.

Newly crowned defender Jarrad Mc Veigh (DEF/MID, $531,000) rewarded those who jumped on him with 83pts and Gary Rohan (DEF, $304,000) played a top game chipping in for some amazing marks with his score of 78pts.

Lance Franklin (FWD, $485,000) was brilliant early and hard at it late. He actually sat on 53pts at half time. From there, Buddy only went backwards to finish his game of 52pts.

ON THE RADAR

Don’t be turned off by the 59pts he scored last week, because Dane Rampe (DEF, $402,000) is the real deal as a defender. Leading into last week, he had scores of 110 and 126. Rampe is only owned by 2% of Fantasy coaches and has a break even of only 49 this week. With the byes behind us, now is the time to fix up any rookies you might have on your field with high scoring cheap players and Rampe might just be the answer you are looking for.

TOP 5 SCORERS

#1 – 114 Josh Kennedy (MID, $509,000)
#2 – 112 Luke Parker (MID, $568,000)
#3 – 97 Kieren Jack (MID, $512,000)
#4 – 96 Dan Hannebery (MID, $591,000)
#5 – 328 Sam Reid (FWD, $328,000)

WHAT’S COMING UP

This week the Swans kick off Thursday night footy against Brad Ebert and his Port Power team mates. Ebert has a great history against the Swans scoring over 100 against them in his last five games. The Swans will fight fire with fire though and I’m expecting big games from Hannebery and Parker this week.

All the best for round 14!
