Lloyd Perris was the happiest man going around at the end of Friday’s training session.

The 20-year-old will line up for his first competitive game in more than 12 months when the Swans take on Brisbane in Round 14 of the NEAFL.

Pick 55 in the 2013 Rookie (NSW Scholarship selection), Perris underwent LARS after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in Round 12 of the NEAFL last season and has suffered ongoing knee complaints ever since undergoing LARS.

After months of rehabilitation, Perris’ long-awaited selection came down to Friday’s final training session.

"I got through that final session, so I’m absolutely stoked,” Perris said.

"I went over and gave Tim Needham (Swans doctor) a high-five, they’re pretty rapt for me and have been a big part of the journey back to full fitness.

"I have had a few setbacks and to get over this final hurdle and to get some reward on the weekend, playing some footy, is the biggest thing for me so I’m really excited.”

Perris will be managed but any minutes on the field is better than no minutes at all which has been tale of the tape for Perris and some other Swans on the long-term injury list.

Among those include Alex Johnson, who is continuing his recovery from a series of knee reconstructions.

"AJ and I have become quite close because of that,” Perris added. “I learnt a lot of him and how he goes about it.”

Perris’ inclusion is a boost for the NEAFL Swans in the wake of last weekend’s humiliating defeat at the hands of UWS Giants in Blacktown.

The Swans were outgunned by an experienced line up and will be keen to bounce back against the Lions at Coorparoo.
