The Sydney Swans will aim to find the best possible outcome for both club and player when the time comes for Lewis Jetta to officially part ways.

Jetta, 27, notified the Swans following exit interviews on Wednesday of his desire to move back to his home state of Western Australia.

Citing family reasons for the move, Jetta wishes to resume his playing career with either West Coast or Fremantle.

General Manager of Football Tom Harley says while the departure was unfortunate, the aim now was to work through the finer details with the Eagles or Dockers and seek the best possible deal.

“It’s disappointing to have Lewis request a trade but we totally understand why,” Harley told SwansTV.

“He’s got two young kids and family in Perth so we’ll be dealing, when the time is right, with both Western Australian clubs to be seeking the best possible outcome for the Swans.”

Recruited from Swans Districts with Pick 14 in the 2009 National Draft, Jetta has played 127 games and booted 99 goals in a career spanning six seasons.

He was integral to the Swans’ 2012 premiership campaign, booting 45 goals that year to lead the Club’s goal-kicking by season’s end.
