Josh Kennedy’s prominence during the Swans’ 2015 finals campaign was formally recognised during Friday night’s Club Champion Dinner.

The 27-year-old took out the Paul Roos Award as the Best Player in Finals following his heroic efforts in the Swans’ qualifying final loss to Fremantle at Domain Stadium and semi-final loss to North Melbourne at ANZ Stadium.

Kennedy starred in both matches, starting with a 39-disposal performance against the Dockers before following up with 28 disposals against the Kangaroos with the latter featuring a game-high 11 tackles.

Kennedy’s leadership within an undermanned Swans outfit was also looked upon fondly by the Match Committee who ultimately adjudicated the sought-after award.

Kennedy’s credentials as a big-game performer is now unrivalled, with this year’s gong following on from his wins in 2010 (his first season at the Swans) and 2013 (joint winner with Jarrad McVeigh).
