The Sydney Swans will enter next Tuesday night’s National Draft at the Adelaide Convention Centre with three live selections.

Manager of Recruiting and List Strategy Kinnear Beatson says it will be “an interesting night” as the new bidding system for Academy and Father-Son prospects takes shape.

Beatson, who will be front and centre to proceedings at the Adelaide Convention Centre, confirmed the Swans will look to add three new players to their senior list.

When they’ll be and in what order will be determined by the new Academy and Father-Son bidding system, of which the Swans will be reportedly involved in early on.

Beatson revealed the Swans have a number of targets in mind, including QBE Academy graduate Callum Mills, but the likeliness of hitting them all will come down to whether any other teams bid for the talented midfielder.

“We’re not sure yet who will bid and the implications with the new bidding system will determine where our following two selections will sit,” Beatson said.

“That’s just something we’ll have to go with on the night.

“We’ve got some targets that we want to try and hit throughout the draft, whether we’re capable of doing that depends because we’re anticipating that those picks will be from about 50 onwards.”

The intrigue around Mills and where he will be taken in the draft will not be determined until the night.

Beatson has indicated he expects a club to make a bid for the Academy product at some stage during the first round.

“There will be some other factors that will impact on the night,” Beatson said.

“Picks are going to shuffle backwards and forwards throughout the night so it’s going to be quite new and quite different

“To a degree we’ll have to be thinking on our feet.”

Beatson is looking forward to welcoming the Swans’ new draftees and finalising the 2016 list which includes recruits Michael Talia, Callum Sinclair and Colin O’Riordan.
