Players had two options - golf or go-karts.

The 2016 list was split into two groups on Thursday with one heading along to Coffs Harbour's premier Bonville Golf Resort for a round while the other burnt rubber at F1 Kart Hire.

The day, which started off with a short but solid weights session, offered the players a chance to unwind for a few hours ahead of what will be full steam ahead towards the NAB Challenge and regular season.

While there was no official record keeping at go-karting, that didn't stop everyone's competitive edge from shining through with James Rose, Jack Hiscox and Luke Parker considered among the better drivers on the track.

At Bonville, rated Australia's 42nd best course according to Golf Digest, the Ambrose style competition came down to a tie between two groups who scored -8 par.

The overall winner, on count back, was taken out by Nick Davis (who also won a longest drive and closest to the pin competitions), Isaac Heeney, Tom Mitchell and Nick Smith.

Runners-up were Jake Lloyd, Heath Grundy, Nic Newman and Steve Kelly (staff).

Sydneyswans.com.au was on the ground at both activities to capture some of the action.
