Alcohol will be an easy one, but what about sugar?

Sam Naismith has committed to Feb Fast, aiming to raise valuable funds and raise awareness for young people doing it tough all around the country.

The 23-year-old has vowed to refrain from alcohol and sugar for the entire month of February.

Can it be done?

Well, Naismith is confident but admitted it'll be tough with a Messina ice-creamery around the corner from where he lives while there's surprisingly a few sugar-laden food and drink items around the club which the big man will have to be wary of.

"Things like certain protein powders, sweets that may be around the club, energy drinks such as Gatorade I'll be giving up so it'll just be water for me out on the track at the moment," Naismith said.

"It'll be tough but compared to some of the challenges people are facing across Australia, it's nothing."

Naismith aims to raise $500 but is hoping to exceed those amounts by February 29 with donations going directly to youth advocacy services including, in NSW, the Tedd Noffs Foundation.
