Swans speedster Gary Rohan will start the season on the sidelines after being placed on the Club’s long-term injury list.

Sydney Swans General Manager of Football Tom Harley says the 24-year-old is hopeful of returning for round six.

“Gary has been battling a hamstring problem for a number of weeks and has missed a critical portion of his pre-season preparation,” Harley said.

“As a result, he will need at least another eight weeks preparation before he can resume playing, so for now he will continue his rehab.

“We’re confident Gary will have an impact when he returns and will play out the year.”

Rohan has played 61 AFL games since being recruited to the Swans with a first-round selection in the 2009 draft.
