There’s some good news on the injury front for several Swans players who have taken the next step in their recovery.

Co-captain Jarrad McVeigh is a chance to return against the Crows.

Swans General Manager of Football Tom Harley says McVeigh is “very close and has been training strongly for a couple of weeks”.

Meanwhile Michael Talia is off crutches after suffering a broken foot in Round 1 against Collingwood. Talia is back doing cardio work and will be hoping to make an impact in the latter half of the season.

Sam Naismith has returned to training this week after having surgery on his broken hand. The 23-year-old will be a chance to return next week.

However Harley says Sam Reid is still at least two-to-three weeks away from playing.

“Not so much a setback, but he has had some soft tissue challenges since the intra-club,” Harley told the HCF injury update.

“He’s into a running program now and is a bit like Gary Rohan – he’ll get the running conditioning and then get the training conditioning.”
