The Sydney Swans have only just learned how to deal with life after the great Michael O'Loughlin. Now, Marn Grook at the SCG will be played without the No. 37 running around.
His absence will be felt.
One will not help but look for him out in the middle anyway.
Thankfully, his legacy - and the legacy of O'Loughlin - will live on when the best player on the ground on Friday night is awarded with the Goodes-O'Loughlin Medal.
What an honour it would be to win an award named after two of greatest Indigenous players ever to grace our game during one of the most significant rounds on the AFL's calendar.
"You know we're getting old when we've got a medal named after us mate," O'Loughlin said to Goodes during an exclusive one-on-one for SwansTV.
"I know, it's amazing. I know you've been pushing this for a few years," Goodes then joked with his good friend.

He continued: "It's just nice to be remembered by this football club. This footy club has meant so much to both of us, we're still affiliated with the Swans and forever will be (with this medal). The Club has helped us develop into the young men that we are."
Goodes and O'Loughlin will be on hand to present the medal to the player judged best afield in Friday night's blockbuster with the winning team taking away the Marn Grook Trophy.
