The Sydney Swans trained in their Indigenous Round guernsey on Wednesday, ahead of Marn Grook at the SCG.

The Friday night blockbuster against North Melbourne will kick off the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round.

The player judged best on ground will be awarded the Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal, in honour of Swans greats Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin who played a combined 675 games in the red and white.

Goodes told Swans TV it’s a touching tribute.

“It’s nice to be remembered at this football club,” Goodes said.

“This football club has meant so much to both of us, so to still be affiliated with the Swans … it’s the club who helped us develop into the young men that we are.”

There’s a double header in the Moore Park precinct this Friday so Swans fans are being encouraged to arrive early to soak up the pre-match entertainment.
