Sydney Swans veteran Ted Richards will be watching from the sidelines this weekend after accepting a one match suspension for an incident in the NEAFL.

Richards was reported for rough conduct after an incident in the first quarter of Sydney’s NEAFL win over the Brisbane Lions in Blacktown on Saturday.

The incident, involving Lions No. 51 Brock Aston, was assessed as careless with medium impact.

Last week Richards announced that he plans to retire from football at the end of the season after a career that has so far spanned 261 games over 17 seasons.
