The judges should give Kieren Jack the honour based on the moment alone.

During the dying stages of Saturday's epic at the MCG, the Sydney Swans had inch-by-inch pegged back a 36-point deficit to be within a goal of the lead.

With players out on their feet given what toll the gruelling encounter had, one final effort was needed to give the visitors a lead they deserved.

Enter, Kieren Jack.

Desperate lunges from Josh Kennedy and Isaac Heeney willed the ball forward before Jack gathered and wowed the record crowd who turned out to watch these two clubs go toe-to-toe.

Jack calmly picked the ball up around his haunches, side-stepped an opponent, turned the ball sideways before his left foot connected with the footy beautifully to bend the ball through the big sticks.

Jack is up against Brisbane's Eric Hipwood and Carlton's Bryce Gibbs for the nod.
