The Sydney Swans have finished the trade period by acquiring a future second round selection in exchange for rookie Sam Murray.

In the only trade completed Murray, 2017 Round 4 selection and 2018 Round 3 selection were traded to Collingwood in exchange for a 2018 Round 2 selection.

The Swans will now enter November’s National Draft with selections 14, 33, 51, 70, 88 and 106.

Head of Football Tom Harley said the Club is pleased with the trade period and will now look forward to bringing in some exciting new talent at next month’s draft.

“Our priority this year was to re-sign our good, young players including Zak Jones, Callum Mills and Isaac Heeney as well as Sam Reid who was a free agent, and that's what we were able to do," Harley said.

“During the trade period, Sam Murray expressed a desire to join Collingwood so we worked to get that deal done which saw us receive Collingwood's future second round pick which was a great result for the Club. We wish Sam all the best for the future.

“We knew going into this trade period that we were going to be pretty quiet so we are comfortable with how everything panned out and will now turn our attention to next month's Draft where we look forward to welcoming some exciting new talent to the Club."
