Sydney duo James Rose and Jack Maibaum have penned new deals to remain with the Swans for another season.

Rose, 22, has played nine senior games, including his memorable debut in 2015 against GWS when he kicked three goals in the final quarter after coming on as a substitute.

Selected with pick 37 in the 2014 National Draft, Rose finished among the top three Swans in the NEAFL this season in average disposals, inside 50s, hard-ball gets and goals.

Maibaum, 20, joined the Swans from the Eastern Ranges with pick 45 in the 2016 National Draft.

The key defender, who received All-Australian honours in his draft year, has been developing his craft in the NEAFL in his first two seasons at Sydney.

Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says it’s exciting to have locked in the developing duo.

“It’s great to have James and Jack re-sign with Sydney for another year,” Harley said.

“Both James and Jack have been consistent performers in the NEAFL for a long time and are knocking on the door of senior selection.

“It’ll be good to see the pair put in another solid pre-season and continue to push for more senior opportunities next season.”

The pair have joined a host of emerging Swans to have re-signed this year, including Jake Lloyd, Tom McCartin, Aliir Aliir, Will Hayward, Ben Ronke, Ryley Stoddart and Sam Naismith.
