The Sydney Swans will welcome back experienced duo Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack for Saturday night’s crucial clash with Collingwood at the SCG.

The pair are among four inclusions to the side with Alex Johnson and Dan Robinson also selected to return.

Heath Grundy (mental health), Colin O’Riordan (hip), Zak Jones (suspension) and Robbie Fox (omitted) have been left out of the team.

Coach John Longmire said he was pleased to welcome back the veteran duo.

“It is obviously good to have those two boys back who we have missed in the last couple of weeks,” Longmire said.

“They are very experienced players so they are very important and help assist our younger players and it is good to have them back in the team this week.”

Alex Johnson will complete his remarkable journey back to AFL football after 2136 days on the sidelines when he lines up against Collingwood.

“It is obviously good that Alex got through that final training session today and he gets to play his first game for such a long time for this football club,” Longmire said.

“He is an important player for us, he has a role to play on the weekend and it is an important role for us.

“We look forward to seeing how he goes but we are really confident he will be able to contribute.”
