Sydney Swans captain Josh Kennedy has praised the even contribution from his side in Saturday’s thrilling 17-point win over Geelong.

After a couple of lean weeks the Swans captain bounced back strongly against the Cats with 33 disposals in a dominant midfield display.

In the fourth quarter alone, when his team needed him the most it was Kennedy who had 13 disposals and six clearances to lead his side from 22 points down at the final change.

“We have been pretty poor the last few weeks and I have been leading the charge there in terms of a couple of poor weeks,” Kennedy told the AFL Sunday Footy Show.

“It was good to be able to bounce back, I was really happy that everyone was able to contribute, and it certainly helps me in being able to play my role.

“I am really happy to be able to bounce back in that fashion, to get a win and it was such a great feeling after the game.”

Zak Jones (11 disposals in the fourth quarter), Isaac Heeney (eight disposals and a goal) and Robbie Fox (two goals) influenced the contest late, while debutant Ben Ronke put the Swans in front with a clutch finish.

Kennedy said he was impressed with the performance of ruckman Callum Sinclair who was instrumental in the win with 33 hit outs, 18 disposals and six marks.

“He just keeps building every week,” Kennedy said.

“That last quarter he rucked right through the whole last quarter and took a few big crucial marks which really steadied the ship

“He keeps getting better each week and hopefully we can continue to build on that as a team.”

The Swans return home to take on North Melbourne this Saturday night at the SCG.
