Star forward Lance Franklin has been nominated for the Round 7 AFL Goal of the Year for his monster bomb against Brisbane on Sunday.

Franklin collected the handball on the wing before running to about 70 metres out from goal and launching towards the big sticks.

The run, the accuracy and the distance is something that few could achieve.

It was trademark Franklin.

“He has done it again Buddy, that’s about as long as you can get,” echoed the words of FOX Footy commentator Anthony Hudson.

Franklin will be up against Richmond's Dan Butler and Hawthorn's Will Langford who were also nominated from the weekend of football.
