The Sydney Swans have launched a three-part video series profiling the journey of Nutri-Grain Ironman champion Alastair Day as he joined the Club for pre-season training.

A four-time Coolangatta Gold champion and die-hard Swans fan, Day joined the Swans for training during January in preparation for the 2017 Nutri-Grain IronMan Finals Series.

The videos are set to provide a great insight into just how tough it is to become an AFL footballer and the skill set required to make it at the top level.

“It was so inspiring to be with the boys, I was a bit nervous when I first turned up but it was allright once I got into it,” Day said.

“I am just stoked to be down here.

“It is pretty different to what I do so there are so many benefits I will get from not only being around the guys and seeing how professional they are but the physical side of it as well.”

Over the course of three days the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series champion took part in a wide range of training activities including a gruelling cardio circuit, boxing session, skills training and combine testing.

Day has returned to full training with Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club since his time with the Swans as he prepares for the Nutri-Grain Finals Series at North Cronulla Beach, NSW from Friday 24 February – Sunday 26 February, 2017.
