As expected, Gold Coast has bolstered its playing stocks ahead of Saturday night’s clash.

The injury-ridden Suns have lost the past seven matches but will be rejuvenated by the return of five players – plus a debutant – for the Round 11 encounter at Metricon Stadium.

Matt Rosa, Touk Miller and Alex Sexton have missed the past two to three weeks with injuries while Callum Ah Chee and Kade Kolodjashnij were also notable absentees from the Suns’ hefty loss to West Coast last Sunday.

All five will be welcomed back alongside first-gamer Jesse Joyce.

Elevated from the rookie list last week, Joyce is a graduate of Gold Coast’s Academy system and will become the 37th player used by Suns this season.

They sit 17th on the ladder and will be hungry for a win.

They still boast some match-winners including talented midfielders Gary Ablett, Dion Prestia and Jack Martin while Tom Lynch is ranked third in the race for the Coleman Medal.

The inclusions are a boost for Gold Coast which has lost all six battles with the Swans since its inception into the league.

The last at Metricon came in Round 10 last season when Dan Hannebery racked up 42 disposals in a 52-point win to the visitors.

Southern Queensland is bracing this weekend for some wild weather with heavy rainfall and windy conditions forecast.

Both coaches are on the same page in regards to the weather with Rodney Eade saying on Friday he’s anticipating a “bit of a slog” if the rain falls during the match.

His statements come in the wake of John Longmire declaring that the game will be “all about territory” as his side aims for their ninth win of the season.
