Callum Mills returns to the Sydney Swans side to tackle the Giants in Sydney Derby X on Sunday.

The first-year Swan missed his first match of the season in last week’s win over Gold Coast in wet conditions at Metricon Stadium.

He missed the match after a decision was made to manage the 19-year-old who played the first 10 matches of the season.

Coach John Longmire said Mills would bolster the Swans backline upon his return.

“Obviously he has had a big work load to this point in the season, so that combined with the conditions we were just conscious of,” Longmire said.

“It is good to have him back – he is fine so he gets another chance to play senior footy for us again.”

George Hewett is the only omission from the final team as he continues to recover from concussion suffered against Gold Coast.

Longmire said it was important a cautious approach was taken with Hewett despite the youngster training with teammates on Friday.

Sydney Derby X against the Giants starts at 4.40pm on Sunday.
