Entering his third season with just seven AFL matches under his belt forward James Rose is determine to see more senior action in 2017.

The 20-year-old has shown glimpses of brilliance since being drafted with pick 37 in the 2014 National Draft

On debut the exciting forward came on as a substitute to score three final quarter goals in a thumping win over the Giants at Spotless Stadium.

Due to several injury issues on the eve of the 2015 finals series Rose was called into the side to face North Melbourne in a cut-throat semi-final at ANZ Stadium.

Rose took six marks to go along with nine disposals as the Swans 2015 season came to a close.

He was in and out of the side during the 2016 season managing five matches throughout the season playing as a third tall forward.

With a solid foundation set the South Australian is fully focussed on making 2017 his own.

“I have come back in relatively good nick and I am confident with the way I am performing at the moment,” he said.

“My running is the best it has been since I have been at the Swans.”

“The main goal is to play some consistent senior football in season 2017.”

“At the moment I am just taking it day by day, trying to get into every session and hopefully crack into that pre-season side.”

Rose joined his teammates on a three-day Development Camp at the Sydney Academy of Sport from Monday to Wednesday.
