Midfield coach Josh Francou says...

"He's one of those players we've used up forward and down back, but he's also spent a lot of time on the ball. He's had a really good season. He's one of those players we can go to if we need a different look or if things aren't quite working. His ability to get things done game day and see things on the field structurally. He certainly makes it easier for us in the coaches box. He's valuable wherever and whenever he's used."

Season highlight...

Round 8 v Hawks (20 disposals, eight marks, four tackles, two goals)

If there was a game the whole playing group set themselves at the start of the season, let alone Jarrad McVeigh, it was against the reigning premier at the MCG.

The skipper’s impact was solid but stepped up a notch when the game was on the line in the dying stages of the final term.

Trailing by 12 points halfway through the fourth quarter, McVeigh floated forward to kick two goals and set up another to steal the lead and - ultimately - the win.
