The Sydney Swans midfield group has improvement in it heading into the second half of the season according to senior assistant coach Stuart Dew.

A midfield group boasting the names of Hannebery, Parker, Kennedy, Jack and McVeigh getting better is a scary prospect for any opposition side.

Hannebery has clearly been the standout throughout the 2015 season averaging 31 disposals a game and being judged by many experts as a contender for the Brownlow Medal alongside Fremantle star Nat Fyfe.

Kennedy, McVeigh and Jack have all continued to perform at the high level most have come to expect from the star trio of the Swans midfield.

Dew said he expected to see an even better second half of the season from the midfielders than what was achieved throughout the first half of 2015.

“We have had some solid performances, probably the last couple of weeks we have been down on output a little bit,” Dew said.

“I think now everyone will be back on deck, we put a good three or four sessions in before our next game.

“There is one thing through, you can’t question their effort, and they never give up in there.”

On the back of his first Club Champion award Parker has continued to improve his game with his ability to push forward and impact the scoreboard vital.

“Parks can play in the midfield but he can also go forward, take a mark and kick a goal,” Dew said.

“Depending on who we play he can play a different role.

“In the majority he is a really good midfielder and sets a really good message for the rest of them.”

It is a midfield full of depth as Tom Mitchell, Ben McGlynn, Jake Lloyd and Harry Cunningham all fight for time among the five aforementioned stars.
