The Goodes-O-Loughlin (GO) Foundation is pleased to announce it has partnered with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF).

Under the partnership, AIEF will deliver scholarships for Indigenous boys and girls at leading schools as part of the AIEF Scholarship Program.

Students will also receive career support and mentoring through the AIEF Pathways Program.

The partnership will ensure scholars receive high quality education, as well as the support they need to achieve their goals.

Co-founder of the GO Foundation, Adam Goodes believes it’s a significant milestone for the Foundation.

“Education is what GO is all about,” Mr Goodes said.

“Partnering with AIEF will provide more Indigenous kids with an opportunity to receive high quality education which will give them a platform to do what they choose in life.”

The scholarships will be offered to day school students and will be divided equally between boys and girls.

This is very important for Adam and Michael who were raised by their mothers.

Michael O'Loughlin believes this partnership will benefit Indigenous students greatly.

"Education is a key pathway to employment so this is a great partnership that will be provide tremendous opportunities for Indigenous students."

The Chairman of GO, Peter Meurer, echoed Goodes' and O'Loughlin's thoughts.

“It is exciting to be partnering in the field of education with such a well respected institution as AIEF,” Mr Meurer said.
Chief Executive Officer of AIEF, Andrew Penfold AM, said the partnership also marked an exciting milestone for AIEF.

“AIEF has always sought to partner with the most iconic companies and Australia’s most respected and influential thought leaders in business, sport, media, philanthropy, government and society,” Mr Penfold said.

“Adam and Michael are two of the people I admire most in Australia, because they are authentic blokes from humble beginnings who have achieved greatness and made their own luck through sheer hard work and dogged determination, and they are passionate about making a difference for Indigenous children through the power of education.

“These are the same things that relentlessly drive AIEF.

“And those values are what young Indigenous Australians need to see in their role models, so I know that by working together, AIEF and GO are going to make a significant impact and support great outcomes for Indigenous kids.”

GO also has a working relationship with the Sydney Swans which has benefited the foundation and enhanced and defined both organisations’ ambitions for Indigenous engagement.
