Barry Hall, Tadhg Kennelly and Adam Schneider have been named to play Fremantle at the SCG on Sunday.
Hall returns are sitting out last week with a groin complaint while Kennelly is a welcome inclusion having been expected to take at least another week to fully recover from severe bone bruising to his right knee.
Schneider also comes back in for the historic game of milestones – where Michael O’Loughlin breaks the Club games record, Adam Goodes notches his 200 games, Peter Everitt earns AFL Life Membership and Sean Dempster reaches 50 - after running into form with the reserves last weekend.
"I don't think you can underestimate the importance of what Mick's doing," said coach Paul Roos before the team trained on Friday afternoon.
"Because the club has been around for 130-odd years and there's only ever going to be one club games record holder. I think that's as significant a milestone as I've been involved in in football."
Roos said Kennelly is a certainty to play while he expects co-captain Hall to take the field.
"We think Hally will play. The only other discussion will be what role and how he's feeling. If he doesn't feel any better than last week we probably won't play him, but I think he's feeling a little bit better," he said.
"Tadhg looks 90 or 95 per cent, so he'd just about certainly play.
"He will be a little bit underdone, and probably start on the bench. He's probably an 80- or 90-minute player."
Roos anticipates the omitted players will "go back [to the reserves] and get some confidence and get some form and, if they do what Schneids did, come back into contention quickly."
Meanwhile ruckman Aaron Sandilands and forward Chris Tarrant will add some potency to the Dockers side which defeated Carlton by 77 points last weekend.
