Sydney Swans veteran Jude Bolton has been named as a finalist for the 2013 Sports Dad of the Year award.

Bolton is one of ten finalists for the annual award and will come up against fellow AFL players Nick Maxwell and Corey Enright as well as Socceroos goal keeper Mark Schwarzer in the race to be named the best sports dad in Australia.

Bolton is the proud dad of 18-month-old daughter Siarra, who shared in the popular player’s 300 game milestone match against Collingwood in last year’s Preliminary Final, when Bolton carried her through the banner.

The Swans forward said it was terrific to share the milestone with his little girl.

“Getting to carry her through the banner on my 300th game, which was the Preliminary Final last season was just an incredible feeling,” Bolton said about sharing the experience with Siarra.

“She was eight months old at the time but she was really calm and not overawed by the big crowd at ANZ Stadium, it was great.”

The award, which is in its fifth year, aims to provide insights into how professional sportsmen juggle fatherhood with their sporting commitments.

Vote now for Jude at sportsdads.com.au. Voting ends on Tuesday, August 27, and the winner will be announced on Father’s Day, Sunday, September 1.
