Joel Amartey has shown strong form as a key-position player at both ends of the ground since being drafted to the Sydney Swans as a rookie ahead of the 2018 season. After several years of injury, Amartey enjoyed his most consistent season playing all but one match in 2024. The Ghanaian Australian kicked 43 goals including a massive nine-goal haul against the Adelaide Crows in Round 14 of the 2024 season. His 2025 campaign was cut short due to injury as he works on a comeback this preseason.
