Playing in front of a sell-out crowd is easy for Sydney Swans co-captains Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack, but playing a round of golf with the world’s top two golfers, Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott, is an entirely different story.

The pair, who were invited to take part in the Australian Open Pro-Am by Destination NSW, teed off with McIlroy for the front nine, before playing the back nine with Scott.

Jack even flew back early from Perth, where he had spent a few extra days after the weekend's International Rules test, to take up the chance of a lifetime, playing alongside last year's Race to Dubai winner McIlroy and the only Australian to ever conquer Augusta over four days in the US Masters, Scott.

With former team mate Jude Bolton as the designated caddy, the co-captains teed off bright and early at 7am at the picturesque Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

While they couldn’t quite match McIlroy and Scott stroke for stroke, they both had a few good moments on the course – as well as a couple to forget – but thoroughly enjoyed playing alongside two of the biggest names in golf.

The two golfing superstars will go head-to-head in the Emirates Australian Open, which begins tomorrow at the Australian Golf Club.

This time last year it was McIlroy who claimed glory, after overtaking Scott on the final hole to claim his maiden Australian Open title.
