Sydney Swans defender Dane Rampe believes his side has set themselves up well for a big second half to the 2015 season.

Entering the mid-season bye with a record of nine wins and two losses the Swans sit second on the ladder behind only Fremantle who have only lost one game.

The side heads into the bye in red hot form winning their sixth match in a row with their 16 point victory over North Melbourne on Saturday night.

Rampe said he was confident his side could now build on the solid foundations they have set themselves over the first eleven rounds.

“It was a really important win and we are really happy with our start to the year to be 9-2 and we have a rest now so we are looking forward to a well-earned break,” Rampe said.

“They are a team that when they do get momentum they are hard to stop so we were aware of that and to our credit in the end we did hold on.

“We are in a really good spot to set ourselves up for the second half of the year.”

Despite losing just two games for the season the Sydney Swans playing group has set their focus on becoming a more consistent side across the full four quarters of the game.

“One thing we did speak about is being focussed on putting together four quarter performances and I don’t think we have done that too often this year,” Rampe said.

“That is something we are really going to focus on in the back end of the year because we feel it is an area that we definitely can improve.”

The Swans return to training on Thursday afternoon ahead of their Round 13 clash against Richmond at the SCG.
