Sydney Swans midfielder Lewis Jetta has bounced back from minor knee surgery and has already resumed running just a week after going under the knife.

Jetta, who underwent a procedure to release the iliotibial band in his right knee last Wednesday, ran on the treadmill yesterday and is positive about his recovery.

“It feels really good,” Jetta told SwansTV.

“I ran yesterday on the treadmill, so it feels good and I’m going to see how it goes tomorrow on the grass.

“It seems to have been okay after I did a bit of running and exercise, so it’s good.”

Jetta will run laps at tomorrow’s training session at Lakeside Oval and will push to join the main group in the next two weeks.

The 24-year-old said he was also aiming to take part in one of the main sessions at next week’s Coffs Harbour training camp.

“The Doc said four-to-six weeks, so I braced myself for that, but it’s pulled up really good and I think I’m pushing a few boundaries,” he said.

“If tomorrow goes well and Monday’s session goes well, as well, then it could be Wednesday or Friday (next week) that I’m back in the main group doing competitive work - if not, it will probably be the following week.

“It’s good news and it’s better than sitting out for six weeks.”
