The Sydney Swans VFL side will head to Melbourne to face Richmond on Sunday in Round 2 VFL action at Punt Road.

The team started the season in the best way possible with a 42-point win over Coburg last weekend in Sydney.

The side will be bolstered by the inclusion of Taylor Adams, who will make his first official appearance for his new club and play managed minutes as he returns from a pre-season knee injury. Indhi Kirk will also play his first game for the season after missing last week.

Caleb Mitchell, who starred for the VFL side in Round 1, comes out of the side to make his AFL debut while Joel Hamling will also miss.

Coach Damian Truslove was impressed with the team's connection in the first match and said the side will look to build on what they delivered in Round 1 but expect a fierce opponent in Richmond.

"We look forward to travelling to Melbourne together this weekend to take on an in form Richmond VFL team. They had a good win against GCS on the weekend," Truslove said.

"We will continue to drive high standards including playing a united brand of footy."
