The emerging Gold Coast Suns travel to the SCG on Sunday full of confidence after a 53-point mauling of Hawthorn in Round 5.

Damien Hardwick’s men were far too good for the Hawks, with Ben King leading the way with four goals, while Noah Anderson dominated in the midfield with 36 disposals and one goal.

The commanding result puts the Suns at a 3-2 win-loss record and 8^th on the ladder ahead of Sunday afternoon’s clash against the 4^th placed Swans.

The Suns will be forced to make at least one change to the squad with Malcolm Rosas Jnr sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Sam Flanders will play his 50^th AFL match.

The Suns should come into the match with plenty of confidence, having won three of their last four matches at the SCG, however the last time these two sides met at the venue the Swans were too good winning by 24 points in Round 22 last season.

In that match Chad Warner collected 28 disposals for the Swans while Matt Rowell has 25 and six tackles for the Suns.

After the Suns win against Hawthorn, coach Damien Hardwick said the Swans are always tough at home, especially with the current form of Isaac Heeney.

“Yeah, he’s in a rare vein of form… he’s a brilliant player,” Hardwick said.

“We will look at him, but we will back our guys in to start with – whether it’s at stoppage or on turnover he’s valuable in both facets of the game, we will have some plans in place if he gets out of hand.

“Its going to be a really good challenge. They have a great midfield, (but) I think we have got a great midfield, and most people say its won and lost there so our boys are looking forward to the challenge and I’m sure the Sydney boys are.”

First bounce on Sunday afternoon at the SCG is 1.05pm.
