My younger brother Xavier got a late call up to make his debut against Carlton last Friday night.
It was an incredible experience to play alongside him and I was very proud.
There’s 10 years between us so he’s come a long way from backyard football when I was dominating him (eg. I was 15 years old and he was 5 years old).
Unfortunately because of the late call up Mum and Dad weren’t at the game, but hopefully there’s plenty of opportunities for us to play together again in the future.
Then my older brother Jake won the SAFL (Swedish AFL) premiership. (Jake is on the right – and yes, he has far bigger guns than I do!) Congratulations to the mighty Solna Vikings!!!

Away trips
Two trips to Adelaide, one on either side of the bye, and Ben McGlynn has been getting up to no good on these trips.
I first became aware of this when I noticed him walking around with a big plate of butter which looked like a pretty weird snack for a professional footballer.
He went over to the buffet (aka Shane Mumford’s desk) and spread the butter on the underside of the serving utensil handles so unsuspecting people go by to serve up their dinner, but get a hand full of butter in doing so.
To be fair it was hilarious, but it’s pretty easy to work out who it is when Benny is wetting himself with laughter by himself in the corner yelling out “Butter fingers!”.
State of Origin
The boys have been meeting at Kieren Jack’s house/mansion/estate to watch the rugby league State of Origin series.
At the Swans there is a statistical anomaly with an incredibly low percentage of guys born in Queensland, yet a significantly higher proportion of Queensland State of Origin fans.
This, I believe, can be attributed to the fact that there is a large amount of guys at the club (myself included) that draw great satisfaction from cheering on any team opposing a team that the Jack boys support.
We all look forward to Game 3 of the series…and the trash talking to continue.
Yo Gabba Gabba
The city of Sydney had a special international guest come out a few weeks ago and his name was Yo Gabba Gabba.
I’d never heard of him, but after seeing footage of Jude Bolton dancing around with him on stage it seems like some people got rather excited by he and his friends’ arrival.
Yo Gabba Gabba is a TV show for kids, and Jude was on stage to help Mr Gabba Gabba perform a dance that Jude had choreographed himself.
It was absolutely hilarious, and it all began when Jude invited everyone in the crowd to join in his “dancey-dance”.
Take it away Jude;
“Point up to the sky, and down to the ground, and roll, and back”.
This was repeated a few times until Jude made the call, “GO CRAZY!” and danced/jumped his way around the stage for a few minutes.
Well done Jude!
Congratulations to;
• Kurt Tippet who played his first game for us against Port.
• Tom Mitchell who won the Round 11 Rising Star nomination.
• Swans fan Lorna who recently turned 100, and said she would have rather a letter from the Sydney Swans than the Queen.
• Nick Smith who got 4th in the Cleo Bachelor of the Year competition. Technically they only announced those whom made the top 3 positions, and Nick has assumed that he would have been next, and as he’s a fellow defender I tend to agree with him.

Too Young by Phoenix
The last few songs have all been new songs, so I thought it was about time to put up a song that might be a bit older, but is still just as good.
I’m a big fan of the band Phoenix, and hoping to watch them when they tour later this year/early next year.
Can’t believe that it’s Round 15 already.
We don’t get to play on the MCG too many times throughout the season and we’re all looking forward to the game this Sunday against Melbourne.
Hope all our Melbourne-based fans can come along and we have plenty of red and white in the crowd.
