The kick that finally sailed through the middle will always be a moment that Lewis Jetta will remember.

At long last, after kicking 19 points across the first 14 games of his career, Jetta ran in and kicked his career-first goal in the final quarter of the Swans’ round 19 clash with Hawthorn at the SCG in 2010.

The celebration that followed was fitting, with Jetta’s team mates flocking to him from all over the field to congratulate him on finally putting a major on the board.

Speaking to SwansTV for Volkswagen’s Photo Moments, Jetta recalled the moments that followed his breakthrough goal.

“After I kicked it I did think about my celebrations and naturally I just swung my arm around, shouted and ran straight towards all the boys,” he said.

“I think Shawy came off the bench and sprinted down and everyone got around me so it was an amazing feeling.

“I think every player when they play their first game, or kick their first goal at AFL level is something that everyone remembers.

“For me it was massive with the big build up and it was just good to kick that first goal.”
