Sydney Swans players were spread far and wide around New South Wales on Monday and Tuesday for the club’s Australia Post AFL Community Camp.

Players made the most of their time in the community by visiting schools and hospitals, running footy clinics, speaking to umpires and coaches and even racing some kids at their annual swimming carnival.

The Swans were able to get out to Wollongong, Bowral, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Gosford, Tamworth, Armidale, Wagga Wagga and Sydney metro locations during the camp.

Swans midfielder Harry Cunningham, who returned home to Wagga Wagga for the camp, had a great time and particularly enjoyed his visit to the local hospital.

“It’s great to see the kids there who are going through a tough time and try and put a smile on their faces and light up their day a little bit,” Cunningham told SwansTV.

“It makes you think twice about life. They’re going through a rough time – you might be as well – but it’s not as rough as theirs is at the moment.

“For us to go there and help them out a little bit and put a smile on their face when they’re going through those tough times is great.

“I’m lucky enough to do it regularly throughout the year with Redkite in Sydney, it puts another perspective on life for you which is great.”

During the Community Camp, the Swans ran a social media competition where supporters could #hostSwans at their workplace, school, home or event.

The winning entry was a swimming race between Kieren Jack, Dan Hannebery and Josh Kennedy with students from Willoughby Public School.

Below are some of the photos from the race – which Dan Hannebery claimed he won – and some others from the Swans’ Community Camp.
