Sydney Swans defender Nick Smith has been named to return to the side to take on Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.

Dean Towers is the player that has been omitted from the side that defeated Greater Western Sydney last weekend.

Coach John Longmire said Smith was a welcome addition to the side.

“It is good to have him back in the team, he was very close last week to play but he was just a bit tight in his abductor muscle," Longmire said.

“He is back in this week and is a very important player for us.”

“Dean hasn’t done a lot wrong but Nick had to come back in the team and it gives us a bit more flexibility for us to do what we need to against Fremantle.”
