Sydney Swans midfielder Josh Kennedy’s exceptional performance against Melbourne on Saturday night has won the plaudits of both coaches from the evening.

Kennedy was awarded the full ten votes (five from each coach) in the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year award.

The star midfielder finished the match with 31 disposals, eight tackles, seven clearances and two goals in the 38 point win over the Demons.

A best on ground performance moves Kennedy into seventh position on the overall leader board for the award with Dan Hannebery in third spot.

Co-captain’s Kieren Jack (4 votes) and Jarrad McVeigh (3 votes) once again led from the front with Luke Parker, Lewis Jetta and Kurt Tippett all sharing in the votes.
